Third time lucky for Young Musician
A Thurrock pianist has won the title of Thurrock Young Musician of the Year after reaching the finals stage for the last 3 years
Thurrock young pianist Jemma Costin won the title Thurrock Young Musician of the Year with her sparkling performance of Chopin's Valse Brilliante. Jemma had reached the finals stage for the last three years and her perseverance finally paid off. Paul Wingfield from the Royal Opera House who adjudicated the evening commended her performace for its ability to communicate with the appreciative audience. He was also impressed that the performance was from memory. Jemma was recently offered a place at the Trinity College of Music saturday school and plans to continue her musical studies next year at University or Music College. We wish her every success in the future.
