Young Musician of the Year 2014 is Underway

Thurrock Music Education Hub is searching for the nThurrock Young Musician of the Year

The Thurrock Music Education Hub is once again on the look out for Thurrock’s most talented young musicians.  Working in partnership with the Royal Opera House and the Rotary Club of the Mar Dyke Valley the Music Hub will be offering young instrumentalists and vocalists a free Masterclass on a piece of music of their choosing.  Masterclasses will held in the following categories:  Orchestral strings (including classical but not electric guitar), woodwind, brass, percussion, piano and vocal and will be led by musicians of the orchestra of the Royal Opera House.  Those musicians who show exceptional talent will be invited to go through to the finals night on Monday 24th November and compete for the title of Thurrock Young Musician of the Year 2014.  Many of the past winners of the competition have gone on to successful careers in the music industry.

Workshops take place on Sunday 16th November with the finals night being on Monday 24th November.  Both events will be held at the High House Production Park in Purfleet.  Students aged between 11 and 18 who live or study in Thurrock are eligible to enter the competition.
