THURROCK MUSIC EDUCATION HUB |
The Thurrock Music Education Hub is run by Thurrock Music Services and it's partners.
The Thurrock Music Education Hub was established in August 2012 following a successful bid from Thurrock Music Services to Arts Council England. This initial three year funding will enable the young people of Thurrock to participate in and experience the best possible music making opportunities through education, social, cultural and leisure activities.
The Thurrock Music Education Hub facilitates opportunities to participate in and experience the best possible music making as part of personal development, educational, social, cultural and leisure activity. This is achieved by providing access to the broadest musical experiences, maximising learning and development for our communities in general and specifically for all children and young people.
Ensembles
We run a large number of ensembles at our music schools. They give regular performances.
Instrument Hire
We have a large bank of quality musical instruments for hire at competitive rates. These are offered to all students receiving instrument tuition with Thurrock Music Services (subject to availability).
Music Examinations
Thurrock Music Services is a registered centre for Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) Theory and Practical examinations and Trinity Guildhall Percussion examinations. We also offer a range of additional examinations.
Music Events
We hold 2 main music festivals each year, the Infant Music Festival, and the Junior Music Festival for key stage 2 pupils who attend junior schools in Thurrock. We also run a number of showcase events throughout the year including informal performance opportunities (platforms), concerts and joint services events with partners such as the Thameside Theatre and Royal Opera House.
