Thurrock Music Services is please to offer an instrumental hire service to our students at a subsidised rate. Non-Thurrock Music Service students are also able to hire from us but at at the non-subsidised rate.

Assisted musical instrument purchase scheme

This scheme is available to students of school age who are receiving tuition through Thurrock Music Services and intend to continue for a period of at least 6 months after purchase.

Through this scheme, instruments can be purchased VAT exclusive for educational purposes. Full payment is required before an order is placed.

Hire conditions:
Insurance
All instruments are insured under a blanket all risks policy arranged through British Reserve. Insurance is included in the hire price. The hirer must keep the property in a good state of repair and take all reasonable precautions to prevent accidents, loss or damage.

Consumables
Such as reeds, strings, cork grease etc are not covered by the hire arrangement and are the responsibility of the hirer. These low cost items are readily available at your local music shop or on-line.

Late payment
Please pay your invoices promptly to avoide late payment charges. This enables us to keep our hire costs low.

How we will use your information
We will use your information to provide the service requested. We may share your personal data between our services and with partner organisations, such as government bodies and the police. We will do so when it is of benefit to you, or required by law, or to prevent or detect fraud. To find out more, go to thurrock.gov.uk/privacy. Photo & Video Permission
We occasionally use photographs, video & audio recording to showcase music service students in events & activities on our website and in our social media.

It's important that children and young people feel happy with their achievements and have photographs and films of their special moments. Family and friends also want to be able to share the successes of their children when they have been part of a special event or activity.

If we use photographs or video of pupils we will not include their names in any captions or associated text.

However, some children, parents or carers may not be comfortable with images of themselves or their children being shared. Please let us know your wishes on our application forms.
